Sharp introduces LCD screen with more detail of the world, beating the Apple Retina

The technology allows the manufacture of screens IGZO record of 498 ppi density
You told us earlier this year the Japanese were developing a Sharp that new technology-based panels IGZO (Indium-Gallium-Zinc Oxide). Well, we have here the first prototypes, and someone has left us open-mouthed. The presentation took place during the Society for Information Display exhibition in Boston, and have been models of both LCD screens and OLED. Within the first, certainly the most spectacular is a 6.1-inch panel and a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, which gives a density record ... 498 ppi (pixel per inch). To give you an idea, the famous iPhone 4S Retinal Display has a density of 329 ppi, the Galaxy S III is at 306 ppi, and the Xperia S has 342 ppi. Let a pixel bestiality, surpassing even the new LG smartphone announced few days ago for the second half of the year, and will feature 5-inch, 1080p (FullHD) and 440 ppi.
Until we have in our hands we can not assess the quality of this screen, but I know that the human eye is difficult to assess densities of points beyond 300 ppi, so this seems more a competition between panel makers to join the track of who has the highest density.
But in this case Sharp announced that IGZO technology will also increase the resolution of the screens, reduce energy consumption, smaller frames build and improve the tactile response, assuming a real revolution for the mobile industry. All this is possible thanks to a new crystalline structures discovered, with improved electrical properties, which allow the fabrication of smaller transistors.

The other LCD panel IGZO presented by Sharp is more modest, with 4.9 inches, and HD resolution 1280 x 720 pixels (302 ppi). Also showed up a couple of OLED screens with new technology IGZO, a model designed to fit notebooks 13.5 inches, with resolution QFHD (Quad FullHD) of 3840 x 2160 pixels, and a whopping 3.4 inch flexible panel for small devices, with resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. Sharp has not yet entered the market for OLED displays, but these prototypes indicate that it is ready for it and could see the light in terms of what the market demands.
For LCD panels IGZO seems we'll have to expect less because they begin to produce this year. Now rumors are circulating that Apple will provide the next generation of their devices. We look to find out.
